You just have to keep trying, they sometimes get 
quite stuck. In a pinch, you can use a cold 
chisel to get a good purchase and hammer the nut 
loose, but that of course ruins the nut for reuse.
Once you have that off, an allen key is needed to 
remove the hinge pin, though if you have removed 
the nut at the other end you now have nothing to 
"unscrew" the pin against, so a drift punch may 
be needed to ease the pin far enought back to get 
a grip on it.
