Hello Peter
Ive a 72 P6b
I had an 8 track [yes I know a dinosaur now ] fitted when I first bought it
fresh from the factory.
The audiophile fella cut two speaker holes just forward and below the front
window winders. He took care not to inhibit the radial movement of the
winders.A metal cutter was needed to hack into the door skin behind the
panel .,but nothing structural was interfered with , and it was a very small
amount of Sullihull steel cut out
The speakers grill fits flush with the door panels and have looked smart
from the day i bought the car
There is plenty of room behind the panel to put in a grunty set of speakers
Have upgraded the speakers and head unit three times now over 32yrs and it
all still looks as if it was made to be there.
You get a better stereo effect with two speakers in the front
A sub- woofer in the boot would be nice ,but would drown out that V8 growl
Can post a pict if you are unsure
cheers
