That's close to bad physics... the holes enlarge if the whole sheet is
warmed. Localised cooling could be different.

What I meant was that a hole in metal would enlarge when cooled. At JPL we
enclosed electronic devices in 1/4" AL chassis. Had to have sealed terminals
for external connections. We drilled holes in the chassis. Packed in dry
ice, then inserted the terminals in the holes. When the chassis warmed up
the holes contracted and made a very tight seal.
