[ROVERNET - UK] SPEEDO PROBLEMS

Friends,

I recently bought a 1998 Vitesse Coupe and it,knowingly,had a speedo which
reads perhaps 70% higher than it should.

I thought this would be an easy fix for my mechanic friend but he seems to
be at a loss.

I think the engine is original but the gearbox is likely to have been
changed.

I thought maybe another transducer......are there  different ones available
for different Rover models/gearboxes?
