[ROVERNET - UK] P5 Gas MPG

1. 100 and 110 had 4.3 as standard with OD. Think 80 did too.
95 had 3.9 as standard, no OD.
2. Only way I know is to drop axles out a few inches, disconnect tailshaft,
remove diff. Probably easier to change rear axle complete.

Hi Barry
Thats very interesting, and according to the factory manual you
are indeed correct, 4sp with o/d has 4.3.1 rear end. I just happen to have a
Mk1A auto behind the barn so if I can muster the energy I'll have to give it
a try.
I was under the impression that all the later P4's were 3.9.1 rear ends?
What about those 100's with o/d did they have the 4'3'1 diff also???? While
on the subject Barry, is there a quick and easy way to change the diff's?
or is there only one method, the hard way?
Thanks for the info.
 Ben
