There has been a few recent postings regarding
electrical probs with the P6B and I would like to
share with you all the resolution (I hope!) of my
problem. After this posting in April I changed the
coil and all seemed OK. But with good old Murphy alive
and well the problem reappeared and in one short
journey (12 klms) The car stopped 6 times!!! Luckily I
was on my way to the mechanic. Once there he narrowed
the problem down to the Electronic Ignition and to
prove it he leant me another Piranha unit which I used
for 4 weeks without a problem. I was then able to go
to Piranha here in Melbourne and get a reconditioned
unit for A$75. I fitted it and all seems OK. So with
everything crossed that can be crossed I reckon the
problem is now fixed.
Anyone who has Piranha Electronic Ignition fitted can
get it fixed or replaced at a cost of A$75 for a reco
unit or A$180 for a brand new unit. I'm not sure about
other countries but the postage would be negligable.
I like to hear about solutions as well as problems.
Thanks to all those who responded.
