[ROVERNET - UK] SD1 Alloys on P6B - tight fit on the front wheels

Hello Rovernetters

I have had a freshly powedercoated set of SD1 alloys fitted to my P6B. They
are light grey and look stunning. The only problem is that they are a tight
fit over the caps that cover the front wheel bearings. In fact the caps have
prevented the wheels from completely centering [maybe 1-1.5 mm off centre]
and I have some wheel shudder. My tyre man is going to look at the wheels
again in the morning, and we have discussed two possible solutions:

[1] File the edge of the bearing caps to reduce the size of the flange that
sticks out to impede the wheel going on.

[2] Have a machine shop take a tiny amount out of the centre of the new
alloys.

Has any other intrepid P6 owner with SD1 wheels had this experience? I
would value input. [This is the inscrutable Australian way of saying
"help"].

Kind regards
