Those aluminum pieces were not on mine when the car was new...however the
trim paint line...gold if I recall was indeed there. The black paint was not
a brilliant shine...however there was some gloss...probally the same as you
are thinking as well.I know they did not have any of what we today would
call rock or chipguard applied beneath the paint ...it was a smooth finish.
