Hi Al
I think what you're missing is the white plastic cover for the air valve. I
think I have a spare cover if you need it, but I'm not sure what else might
be missing without a picture fo what you have.
It's probably more economical to rebuild what you have if you can; a new
E-type cylinder will cost you about $700-800, but will include the air valve
assembly. I'm pretty certain you need the master for a series II E-type if
you decide to go this way

Subject: [ROVERNET - UK] P6B Master cylinder question
All
I'm about to pull the master cylinder out on my 1970 P6 3500S. The master
cylinder appears to have a cover missing on the top where there's a spring
exposed. What is this for and can I get a replacement cover.
Also, I'm under the impression that these master cylinders are the same as
certain Jaguar ones. Is this true?
I would like to evaluate whether they are worth rebuilding or replacing if a
Jag part is available.
Many thanks.
Al
