[ROVERNET - UK] Question about spark plugs

Daniel Jianu djianu at yahoo.com

Hello everyone,

I have bought a Rover 2000 '69 few months ago and I love it. I do have a
quick question...I am a newbie and do not know much about cars, so I
apologize if the question is pretty lame, but how can you tell if one of the
spark plugs doesn't work anymore? I have a feeling from the noise of the
engine that I might be running on 3 spark plugs.
Thanks much,
Dan

Dear Rovernetters

I did notice since several weeks a strange vibration in the gear lever when
switching from 1-2, 3-4 or 5-4, i.e., from any odd to any even gear. The
vibration got stronger and it is now also possible to hear the vibration
noise during this specific odd-to-even switching (otherwise OK). The
vibration depends clearly on the speed of the rear wheels and its frequency
appears to be some multiple of the rear wheel velocity.

Is there any hint (gearbox lever mechanism problems? / need for taking the
gearbox apart?)

BTW. How would you replace the front and the rear engine oil seals?

Thank you very much for your advice.

Best regards,
Pierre.

What happened to Stephen's efforts? This is just the old site or am I wrong?

You may be wondering where the RSTCA website has gone...

The Rover Saloon Touring Club of America has a new home at www.RSTCA.com

The website may look oddly familiar to some of you.

Now, if you can read this, you're probably not far from Baltimore. Come
join us at the RSTCA Gathering at the MGs on the Rocks Car Show this
Saturday at Rock State Park in Maryland.

We're expecting good weather, good food, and lots of Rover saloons!

We'll make allowances and not make fun of you if you trailer your car...

Any mileage over 350, you're covered.
