[ROVERNET - UK] Roewa

Hello all,

I am currently in China on business and had the opertunity to go to a Roewa
dealer on Sunday. I had never seen a newer Rover 75 so I cannot compare. But
I understand that it is identical. They car is very nicely fitted together
and not a cheap or poor job at all. But here is the twist apparently SAIC
has a set limit on how many cars can be sold a year in any one province and
the limit for this year in Beijing where I am, is 2000 cars for the year.
This may sound like allot but it is very small. The sales man may have been
full of you know what but they say they are taking orders for 10 cars per
week and they only have 2 demo models in the show room and do not allow test
drives. AND they start at $30000 US dollars so they are not giving these
away here either. Lastly GM just invested 3 billion dollars in a finance
venture with SAIC to finance the cars to the buyers.

Maybe Rover will live on

I also got a several brochures I will post when I return for all interested

Thanks, Peter.
I see what you mean.
I guess it could have been made clearer - for me,
anyway.

Hello all,
Currently I am in China on business and believe it or not a ROEWE dealer is
just down the street. They have bill boards advertising the new 75 so I am
going to go see if I can test drive it tomorrow. At least I want to get a
brochure and take a picture. I will post them later for all to see.

Dirk

Hello,

I'm in the process of building a replica of the Copperleaf Red P6 rally
cars. It's a project I picked up after it had been abandoned by someone
else a couple of years ago.

I'm just about ready to get the navigators panel made up. My research
shows the top dashboard panel is different to the standard P6 item and
gives more clearance for the extra dials and trip meter etc. Rather than
try and get this re-made, I've come to the conclusion that using a LHD
dashtop from a P6 with round instruments will give the clearance I need
and will look close enough to the original.
Can anyone help in my quest for a LHD dashboard top? I'm in the UK but
will gladly pay postage from overseas. I'm not too bothered if it will
need recovering.

Offers please to robert at clocksoft.com

Thanks

Robert Pinner.
