Unlikely that you can repair it, though I've certainly had fun 
trying. If it's a TC & MPH I'm sure I have a spare you can have for 
the shipping.

It is fairly straightforward to reset the odometer, BTW, but anything 
to do with the ribbon itself seems fraught with peril and not a 
little cursing.
