[ROVERNET - UK] Windscreen Wiper Delay - How Long?

All,

I recently refurbished my wiper delay by replacing the piece of sponge as it
had been all but useless for several years. I currently have a delay of
about 1 second between wipes with the steering column white dial set to
maximum delay.

I would like to know if this is the normal delay (it's been so long since it
worked properly I've forgotten) or if perhaps:
1. I didn't use enough sponge
2. There is a leak somewhere in the vacuum pipe.

What sort of delay are others getting?
