Hi Rovernetters,

Those Pinto engines are apparently a very good basis for power tuning.  A
few years ago I met a gentleman who had raced a powerboat for years in
the Hydro 220 class with some seriously modified Buick 215 engines (Rover
connection for this note...) and then when that class faded, he moved to
one using the Ford Pinto engine.

Also, the past 2 years at the Vintage Race weekend at Watkins Glen, in
Group 8 there was a seriously fast red 1971 Pinto that was faster than
about 1/2 of the 2.2L Porsche 911's!  That was good fun.
