I've just finished removing my 3500S' rear calipers and rebuilding them and
repainting them while they were off............I did not remove the rear end
and it went very smoothly...............when i changed them as a kid i never
removed the rear end, although when i first did my 2000TC i removed the rear
end ............with the halfshafts disconnected and the discs off, and of
course disconnecting the hand brake the job is rather easy if you have the
car jacked high enough and pretty straight forward...........i really don't
see what all the fuss is about.............as for removing the rear
end................it also is fairly straight forward and is ideal for
better access to the job at hand and for cleaning and examining your base
unit...............it does involve more work which really isn't necessary
unless you want to replace your bushings and rear end mounts...........it
actually has the potential for greater disaster..............to each his own
i guess

Cheers
Bill Robertson
