[ROVERNET - UK] Mixture problems

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies. Interesting that I'm not the only one to have this issue. Bit more Background for you:

-Both dizzy cap and HT leads (spark plug wires for the Yanks amongst us:-) have only about 2k miles on them. They are all in fine fettle.

-The Carbs' are NOS stock items with the standard AAB needles. They also have run beatifully with the standard Lucas points ignition set up.

Peter, you mentioned going back to your standard coil. You noticed no trouble with the different resistance and the module?

Other observations are: If I refit the points all is sunny again. Maybe I should just go back on the points and leave the flamethrower coil in place as the trouble seems to be the module.

My only other thought is that the car has a dynamo instead of an alternator. Could the low RPM voltage cause a problem for the ignition module?

Thanks for all the comments so far, it really helps to know that there is someone else doing this sometimes! This may be a prime example of 'don't fix what ain't broke'. But, wanted to save myself from having point's problems in the future- oh well.

Cheers,

StevenD
