Importance: Low
Hello all,
I met a gentleman who has a SD1 for sale. It is in average shape for is
age
with some rust in the boot area and had a retrofit Holley carb. I have
too
many cars so I said I would post a notice on the Rovernet.
I think the car runs but needs the usual stuff that rovers need when
they
sit. I think he will take $1500
If anyone is interested let me know and I will put you in contact. The
car
is local to me so I would be willing to assist someone with shipping if
they
need the help.
Dirk

>Help ! Apparently I mal-adjusted the choke cables and upon pulling the
cables for maximum choke, I have caused the carb spindles to lock in the
richest position. I have dis-connected the choke cables and pressed on
the
spindles with finger force to no avail. What must I do to free the
spindles? Should I tap on them or does this involve dis-assembly of some
level? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Fritz,
Take off the air cleaners and push gently on the throttle plates with
something fairly soft - wooden? I am assuming that you checked to make
certain that none of the spindle linkage is binding.
