Hi I had the same problem with my fan motor. The problem with replacing
the motor is that it is a 3 speed motor with 3 separately wired
connections . When I had it replaced with a good 2nd hand motor they
gave me the old one.I pulled it apart very carefully as they are not
really designed for being repaired,I found that the problem was that the
common brush was worn out.It was $1500 $NZ for a new one and $500 for
the 2nd hand one.Probably less that $10 for the brush if they were
available.
