I do question this sort of expenditure on anything, but then I am
dreadful cheapskate who does things like this more for the process
than for the end results.

Tinkering with bits of machinery in the garage is good for the soul,
though I will admit to farming out some work like paint and bodywork
to those who have the facilities and equipment to do the job properly

There are those who want something else and they are as entitled to
there approach as I am to mine, but I wouldn't want to drive a car
that cost me better than 100K when I probably couldn't insure it for
more than a small fraction of it's overall cost
