Spax and Koni used to do kits which were a direct swap in and allowed
adjustment on the shocks. I went for the Spax shocks which can be easily
adjusted on the car and markedly improve the handling, and got my own
(lower and uprated) springs made up locally.

Here in Australia, Pedders have a standard swap kit which does the job
really well and was not horribly expensive. if you get stuck, i can
find out the changeover stock numbers for the shocks and springs.
i had mine done, and it made all the difference.
