I must be one of the non standard ones, but i 've had and loved Rovers since the early 70's ........My 3500S has the vinyl c pillars, no floor dimmer switch, and in removing the engine find there are no access holes in the tunnel like my 2000TC, all of which leads me to my last fiasco.............While under the car with limited access to the tunnel i pulled the wires off the inhibitor switch on the transmission and low and behold the whole spade came off the one side off the switch , instead of just the wire........returning to the top and cursing my luck i was perplexed with the mangled mess they call a power steering unit............who needs a manual i'm thinking........till i look later at the manual and find i have something entirely different looking...........Maybe a one off from the factory when the car was made on a pub day or such.........LOL just kidding............someone has welded a bracket onto the factory piece and to the pump housing........it now has no way of putting a belt on it........let alone the 21/2 hours it took me to remove it..........so its off to work with me to remove this contraption...............
I'm now looking for an inhibitor switch if anyone has one or can they be had new from Ruth or such

Aside i know some are very disturbed by non originality on these or other cars etc but remember this..........beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if it makes you happy then go with it...............We are not in 100 point shows with these cars ............Just driving them should be pleasure enough....................Vive le differance

I'm still looking for input on these Rhoads lifters too .........that was until the pillars hit the fan so to speak

Cheers
Bill Robertson
