[ROVERNET - UK] P6 transmission

This P6 transmission thread is quite interesting. I made a comment some 
metres back along the trail of this thread re the use of the Triumph 
2500S gearbox ...
...4 speed gearbox overdrive on 3rd and 4th effectively giving 6 gears 
in a very flexible package. I don't know where else in the world it was 
released but certainly in Australia I can remember there being a 3500S 
in the P6  bodied Rover range....prior to the SD1. This was a a very 
fast car, not so much raw acceleration and power but over distance high 
speed cruising was effortles and economical. This is the option I would 
go for.
