Yes they are. My series 1 has the integral series 2 pump fitted.

Hi,
  Does anyone if the SD1 series I pump and reservoir is interchangeable
with the series II pump with integral reservoir.  My SD1 was fitted with
the series II pump and I sent it off for repairs but may not be able to
get it back.  I have a series I pump and reservoir which could be
retrofitted.
