Thanks Vern!

That is what you get when you have your own PC that the kids will not touch;
it quickly becomes the family PC (My monitor is bigger) so everyone else's
is no longer good enough.

As Kent would say everyone have a

Hi Nick,
Glad you're having fun. The front struts use cartridge
inserts and the stubs (spindles) are in unit with the
struts themselves. When replacing inserts, check the top
pivots to make sure they turn freely with the springs in
place. They should turn smoothly under load. The
bearings themselves tend to go bad and the early style
pivots as used on the NAS cars are supposedly NLA. I have
pulled four front ends just to get one good pair of
pivots. The alternative is to get a pair of struts, new
or used, from a series 2 SD1 from the UK or down under.

Someone else please comment on this. My memory is getting
fuzzy on this point.

Roverly,
Kent K.

Hey Dirk, best of the season to you. I notice the date on your post
is Dec 07, I think your computer clock needs resetting or you are a
time traveller.

This might be a source for narrow trim clips. They
also were installed on Volvos of that time. 35 cents
each.

Thanks for the info Kent. Rimmer has the whole unit in there India stuff.
Price is right; but I did not want to pay to ship whole unit , when I only
needed the cartridge insert. They also have the top bearing available ,
CRC2240B, for about $30.00. So I was hoping to get the Monroe or some other
part # for a locally available insert. Merry Christmas Nick
