I am told that a  carb. from an early 70s Datson 240K  is a straight swap 
for the Solex, also almost any 2 barrel from the early  Chevy's will fit but 
some adjustment to throttle and choke linkage may be needed.
You can get a kit for your Solex from Scotts in Australia.
