Asbestos is nowhere near as big an issue as smoking.  It kills far less people than tobacco or cars.

what is the material used on the 3500s firewall? It is grey, and has  
fibers, like fiberglass. Hopefully no asbestos content... I'm in the  
middle of my 3500s engine bay restoration, and, with the heater just  
pulled, will be curious to see what is available for replacement foam  
and padding.
