With the 2000 clutch it is recommened to put the slave on top of the engine for the bleed; the tube is thick enough to allow air past the fluid, which anulls one of the assumptions of bleeding ie. that fluid will push the air to the slave.

Steven,
The method an old mechanic taught me to bleed a clutch system is very
similar to Eric Russell's method. That is to disconnect the slave, let it
hang down so the bleed screw is at the highest point. Attach a long clear
rubber tube to the bleed screw and put the open end back to the master
reservoir. Then pump till there is no more air coming up the tube.
With this method you can pump as much as needed to remove all the air from
both the master and slave and with the clear tube coming back up to the
reservoir you can easily see when the air is gone.
