Maybe I misunderstand the characteristics of the laminate vs the heat 
treated.  I thought a laminated screen would be similar to the ones that 
originally came on the SD1 where there was at least one layer of plastic 
film sandwiched in there. Those original (expensive) SD1 screens were 
really, really tough. I tried to break one up to put it into the trash 
using a sledge hammer. It went into a million little pieces, but they 
were held together by the plastic and were STILL shaped like a 
windshield when I gave up.
